1. Headset Plug
Description
Check that the headset can be detected by the headset port of the device.
Note: Requires a compatible wired headset (such as the one provided by the OEM out of the box).
Instructions
- Connect the headset to the device.
Additional Info
Pass or fail if the headset is detected by displaying “1. Headset Connected”
Note: iOS will work just with an iOS headset.

2. Headset Unplug
Description
Checks that a headset unplugs correctly from the audio jack.
Note: Requires a compatible wired headset (such as the one provided by the OEM).
Instructions
- Unplug the headset from the device.
Additional Info
If “Headset disconnected” is displayed, press Pass.
Note: iOS will only work with an iOS headset.

3. Headset Combined
Description
Combined test to check the headset control buttons.
Note: Avoid noisy environments to ensure accuracy.
Instructions
1.- Connect the headset to the device.
2.- Press the headset Volume Up button as many times as the test requires.
3.- Press the headset Volume Down button as many times as the test requires.
4.- Press the headset Media button and record a short voice message.
5.- An automated play back of the recording will be played immediately.
6-. Disconnect the headset from the device.

4. Headset Stereo
Description
An audio sample differentiating audio for left, right and both stereo channels is played through a compatible functional wired headset. This test ensure that both channels could be heard.
Note: Requires a compatible wired headset (such as the one provided by the OEM out of the box).
Instructions
- Set volume level to max.
- Connect the headset to the device and put it on.
- Press Start to hear an audio sample.
- Confirm you heard the sample differentiating audio for left, right and both stereo channels at a reasonable volume and with good quality.

5. Receiver Speaker
Description
Tests the receiver ear speaker functionality.
Note: To be used when customer complains about audio quality or hearing difficulties during a phone call.Instructions

- Confirm audio sample is at reasonable volume and with good quality.

6. Main Microphone Record
Description
Tests the audio functionality for the main microphone.
Note: Avoid extra noisy environments to ensure accuracy.

- Check the Pro-Diagnostics app has access to the microphones.
- Click Start Recording and say “testing main mic.”
- An automated play back of the recording will be played immediately.

7. Secondary Microphone Record
Description
Tests the audio functionality for the secondary microphone.
Note: Avoid extra noisy environments to ensure accuracy.

- Click Start Recording and say “testing secondary mic.”
- An automated play back of the recording will be played immediately.

8. Tertiary Microphone Record
Description
Tests the audio functionality for the tertiary microphone.
Note: Avoid extra noisy environments to ensure accuracy.

- An automated count down for audio recording will be displayed.
- When recording say testing tertiary microphone.
- An automated play back of the recording will be played immediately.

9. Loudspeaker
Description
Tests that loudspeaker works correctly.
Note: Depending on whether the model has more than one loud speaker, individual loudspeakers may be tested.

- Confirm you can clearly hear the audio sample at reasonable volume and and no distortion from a distance.

10. Stereo Speakers
Description
Tests both, left & right, stereo loud speakers.
Instructions

Front Camera
Description
Tests that the Front Camera works properly.
Instructions
- Pro-D will request permission to access the Camera. Click “OK”.

Zoom in to inspect the image if necessary.
Recommend to use a “Color Test Chart” to verify the image quality.

Description
Tests that Back Camera and Flash works properly.

- Press Start Camera Test.
- Tap the screen to take a picture.
- Confirm whether flash was triggered by taking the picture.
- Confirm a picture has been taken.

Description
Tests that the Power Button is functional.

3. Home Button
Description
Tests the Home Button works properly.
Instructions
- Press the Home button to exit to the home screen.
- Press the Pro-Diagnostics logo from the Home Screen to return back to the App.

Description
Tests if the vibration functionality performs correctly by triggering the phone to vibrate continuously.

- Evaluate whether the vibration is consistent and at a reasonable level before selecting pass or fail.

Description
Displays available free space on the device’s internal storage.

4. Sim Card
Description
Tests if the SIM Card can be properly detected.
Note: If the device already has a SIM Card inside, the test will report its state automatically.

- If the device has no SIM Card: Insert the Sim Card.

Note: A compatible carrier SIM is a prerequisite for the phone call test.
A SIM Card for the model tested has to be available in order to run the test as the clip to open the SIM Card tray.
A SIM should be inserted prior to running Diagnostics.

Description
Tests if removal of the SIM Card can be detected.

- Remove the SIM Card.

Note: A SIM card needs to be inserted on the device in order to run this test.

1. Carrier Verification
Description
Validates the carrier associated with the last SIM Card inserted in the phone.
Instructions
- Press the Home button.
- Open Settings.
- Navigate to General > About.
- Check the carrier name.
- Press the Home button.
- Go back to Pro-D app.

Note: If the phone is unlocked it will validate the carrier of the last SIM Card inserted in the phone.

Description
Test displays a custom list of carrier names. Pick the correct one.
Instructions

Description
Tests phone’s default application to make calls by dialling a test number.
Instructions
- Tab Press to Call button.
- Confirm by pressing Call.
- Hang up the call to return back to Pro-Diagnostics interface.

The test number to call is provided based on the region.
User confirms results by pressing pass or fail.

Description
Checks if the current iOS version is equal to or above the expected version.
Instructions

Note: The expected version is customizable, but it is always recommended to set it up to be the latest version available that applies to the specific device model.

Description
Confirms whether the Find My Phone service is enabled or disabled.

Description
Confirms whether the device has an iCloud account associated with it.

7. Wi-Fi Connectivity
Description
Tests Wi-Fi access point detection functionality.
Note: For testing actual connectivity, there has to be a Wi-Fi network accessible.

8. Bluetooth Scanner
Description
Tests Bluetooth scanning functionality. Checks that Bluetooth devices can be listed and detected.
Note: For testing actual connectivity, there must be a Bluetooth device in pairing mode available.

- Bluetooth option has to be enabled in order to run the test.

Description
Tests if the device’s Operating system is rooted (Android) or Jailbroken (Apple)

Description
Evaluates battery overall health condition including level, status, charge cycle and temperature.

Description
Tests the device’s USB port and its ability to transmit/receive data to/from a USB cable that is connected to a computer or a charger.

Description
The motion sensor test combines the accelerometer and the gyroscope sensor tests in one. It guides the user into moving and rotating the device in a way that validates both sensors.

Description
Checks that the pressure sensor is functional within an acceptable range.

4. 3D Touch
Description
Checks that Force Touch function works properly by detecting the change when increasing pressure is applied against the screen.

1.- Press on the test circle using one finger until the circle changes to green.

5. Touch ID
Description
Checks that the Touch ID sensor captures fingerprints.

1.- Within the Pro-Diagnostics app press Settings to navigate to Setting’s main menu.
2.- Press on Touch ID & Passcode.
3.- Add a Fingerprint.
4.- Place your finger on the Home button until the fingerprint is fully captured.
4.- Press the Home button.
5.- Go back to Pro-Diagnostics app.

Note: The process of adding fingerprints must be fully completed.

6. Proximity and Light Sensor
Description
Checks the Auto Brightness functionality and the Proximity Sensor’s ability to sense distance.
Instructions
- Slowly put your hand over the top of the device.
- Screen will turn off and Proximity sensor test should be passed.
- Move your hand away and cover the top of the device again for the Light sensor test.

Positioning of the Proximity Sensor may differ according to the model, but is often located over the top of the device.

Description
Check that the Face ID sensor functions properly.

- Click Open Settings.
- Go to Face ID menu.
- Set up Face ID by following the instructions.
- Go to Passcode menu.
- Set up a Passcode by following the instructions.

Description
Tests that the backlight functionality works by changing the screen brightness level.
Instructions
- Confirms if the brightness of the screen dims and varies.

2. LCD Fill
Description
Test identifies dead pixels, discoloured areas or a burned image on the screen by cycling through solid Red/Green/Black/White backgrounds at full brightness to ensure the colours are displayed properly.
Note: Night Mode/Blue Light filter can cause the screen to appear to be yellow. For complete accuracy check that this mode is off to avoid false fails.

3. LCD Paint
Description
Tests the touchscreen functionality for every sector of the screen.
Instructions
- Press Start to begin.
- Swipe your finger, side to side, across the entire screen surface until it is completely painted.

Test will show Pass option once the screen is completely painted in.
Note: In Android devices, with navigations keys, make sure to paint the LCD button area before the remain of the LCD to avoid the test to auto-fail if by mistake the navigations keys are touched.
